COULD the UK's next top model be a former Eyemouth High School pupil?
Bank worker Lynn-Marie Fital certainly hopes so, as the 22 year-old has won through to the televised stages of Living TV's hunt for the next catwalk queen.

The satellite broadcaster is making another series of the British version of 'America's Next Top Model' and Lynn-Marie has become one of three models in the north east chosen from thousands of hopefuls who applied to the programme makers.

She travels to Leeds on December 6, for the final selection process where she hopes to make it through to the programme proper.
Lynn-Marie, who now lives in Berwick, works for Barclays Bank, in Seahouses, as a customer adviser.

The former Eyemouth High School pupil is also a qualified hairdresser and beautician and has also just launched her own beauty business.
Having done some modelling work for the Bella B bridal shop, in Berwick, she spotted an advert on the 'Star Now' website for the programme and decided to put her name forward.

"I sent in the application form and some photographs of myself in bridal wear, swimwear and a make-over shot to show my versatility. That was in September," she explained.

"They thanked me for my application and explained they were expecting to be very busy – and that was the case with more than 3000 applicants.

"About two weeks ago, I got an email back saying I had made it through based purely on my application and the photos I submitted," she added.

"When I go to Leeds, I have to take part in a group interview with other finalists and then an individual interview.

"The judging panel is made up of experienced models from the fashion industry, and after the interview, I have to catwalk for them and then be fully measured."

All of this will be filmed and used to introduce the contestants once the programme is aired next year.

The show is based along similar lines of the US version, although the models who make it through will not share a house together.

"Among the tasks are working with designers and undertaking media training," said Lynn-Marie.

She said she had received great support from her mum Lorraine, stepdad Simon and three younger brothers, Keiran, 19, Craig, 15 and 13-year-old Antoni, along with chef boyfriend David Johnson.

"I wanted to model simply because I love the clothes and pretty things. It's not about me – I don't actually like having my photo taken – I just like to be a canvass for the designers."
