NEIGHBOURS managed to extinguish a fire that broke out in a house in Chirnside last week.
The Fire Service were alerted to the blaze in an electrical cupboard at a property in Main Street East End at 3.45pm on Tuesday, January 26 and appliances from Duns and Eyemouth attended at the scene.
However, on arrival they found that residents had rallied to put the flames out and Scottish Power were on the scene to carry out some repair work.
The value of the damage is not known.
