CALLING all young space cadets – come along to Duns Swimming Pool every Tuesday night 6.15 -7.15pm to have fun and keep fit with the new space adventure obstacle run.
The session is £2.50 but why not stay until 8pm for an extra 50p. The pool and the inflatable are also available for private hire by arrangement.
The purchase of the inflatable has only been made possible by a staggering community effort by the children from Duns Primary School, who held a sponsored swim as part of their enterprise project, the young people at Berwickshire High School, who held a sponsored swim, and the sixth year charity committee who held a fund raising dance.
Welcome donations were received from Ahlstrom and The Batty Trust, and BREST (Berwickshire Recreation and Sports Trust), who run the pool, are grateful to all fund raisers for making this possible.
Duns Swimming Pool also offers a complete programme of swimming lessons taught exclusively by ASA qualified teachers.
From Ducklings for water confidence to lessons for all ages, and Otter Club (pre swimming club) through to competitive swimmers, with the swimming club members coached by Joyce Waddell.
For the mums and dads there is an over 25s party night on Saturday, January 31, 2009 in the Volunteer Hall in Duns, 9pm – 1am, with live music by Fahrenheit. For tickets, only £10 each, contact Kirsty at Duns Pool.
For information and details of all activities contact the pool on 01361 883397 or to see their full timetable go to www.dunsswimmingpool.co.uk
