THE South of Scotland Select team had a hugely successful finish to their season winning the final selection trial for the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky 2010.

The team of Ross Foreman, Angus Runciman, Stacey Macpherson, Katy Nimmo, Lucy Younger, Rebecca Kinghorn and Shannon Purves pulled out an excellent set of compulsories followed by two rounds of brilliant freestyle.

The freestyle is performed to music by Michael Jackson and the judges really enjoyed it. The team competed on Bart Simpson owned by Andy Miller and lunged by Rebecca Morgan.

The squad have competed in Germany and France this year and are already planning next season's campaign.

Ross Foreman, from Duns, was also aiming for individual selection for Kentucky and was delighted to win the male section and also score 7.5, which was well above the score he needed to be considered for selection.

Ross has been unbeaten in Britain all season and is looking forward to competing internationally next season. Master Key owned by Kate Griffen and lunged by Rebecca Morgan has been Ross's individual horse this season.

Ann Stark vaulting on Zigourney and lunged by Mum Helen Rogerson finished in fourth place in the individual female section.

In the individual class for vaulters not up for selection Shannon Purves finished in second place and Izzy Kyle finished in fifth place.
After a great end to the season the vaulters are now having a short break before training starts again for next year.
