Fiona wins university rowing blue

A RESTON girl has won a blue for rowing at Glasgow University where she is now studying.
Fiona Davidson (20) of Horsley has made rapid progress since taking up the sport in her first year at University.
She showed great promise in novice events and by the next season she had become a member of the second eight, Now she is in the first eight and also in a successful lightweight four.
"I am really enjoying rowing on the Clyde which is an ideal river on which to hold events.
"I intend to go on a year's work placement in 2006 but when I graduate in 2008 I hope I can continue in the sport" she said.
Fiona is a former pupil of Berwickshire High School but while at Duns her great interest, apart from her studies, was music.
She is studying bio chemistry at University.
