EYEMOUTH United manager Carl Hudson will be hoping his team can go all the way in this Sunday's Alex Jack Cup final at the Pennypit, Prestonpans.
Eyemouth will take on Leith Athletic in the final clash of the Alex Jack Cup after a good run which has included taking the scalps of Premier League Tynecastle.

And in a week that saw club chairman Douglas Aitchison awarded the James McLean award
for service to sport in the Borders, the Eyemouth faithful is hoping Sunday's result will make for a double celebration.

Historically Eyemouth have progressed the furthest of any East of Scotland club in the Scottish Cup, reaching the Quarter-Final in 1959-60, and they will be hoping to mark the 50 year anniversary of this by bringing some silverware back to Warner Park.

The Fishermen's Alex Jack Cup campaign began in August, when they came from behind twice in the first round to beat fellow first division outfit Ormiston 3-2 at Warner Park.

It could have been all over five weeks later when Eyemouth faced a tough second round tie away to Tynecastle, who are currently sitting in third in the East of Scotland Premier League. Tynecastle took the lead but Eyemouth heads didn't drop and the fishermen showed what they were made of, fighting back to win 3-1.

Their good cup form continued into the semi final last month when Hudson's men knocked Easthouses Lily's out of the competition, beating them 2-0 to claim a place in their first cup final since the 1980s.

Eyemouth will take on Leith Athletic, who in just their second season in the East of Scotland League beat top flight semi-finalists Lothian Thistle 3-1 away to claim their place in the final.

Both teams will be fresh if a little frustrated after their last two league games had to be postponed because of the weather. Eyemouth haven't played since November 7 when they drew 2-2 with Kelso at home.
Currently sitting three spots beneath eighth place Leith Athletic in the league, the struggling fishermen suffered at their hands on the opening day of the season, with Leith winning 3-0 to take all three points from a dejected Eyemouth.

The Berwickshire side will be hoping to take their revenge on Sunday, kick off 2pm.
