BORDER Ecosse Car Club held an Autotest recently at Charterhall.

The event was very well attended with 26 competitors covering a wide range of age and ability and with classes for juniors aged 14 and above it is the perfect way for youngsters to start in motorsport of all kinds.

The winner after five tests held on the old airfield was Archie Simmonds from Chirnside who used his Midget to great effect.

The front wheel drive class was the biggest and closest fought class of the day with Des Campbell from Coldstream winning in his Astra.

With under four seconds seperating the first four FWD cars it was a close fight all day and the junior class was won by Thomas Warwick from Hawick in his Diahatsu on his first ever event.

Border Ecosse Car Club would like to thank Major Trotter for the use of the venue for the day.
